Great Stevenote Moments

Tomorrow is the keynote at Macworld, but knowing Steve won’t be there it just doesn’t seem the same. So in honor of Stevenote’s gone by here’s a great post at MacLife highlighting some of the best keynote moments.

New Apple Notebooks

As promised Apple released updates to their Macbook and Macbook Pro lines. They were a little more than updates, they are completely redesigned. I was hoping for a price drop, but I guess that was wishful thinking. They really do look great, I’ll just have to decide if it’s worth the expense to replace my aging 12in Powerbook. I’m a little sad they dropped the firewire port from the Macbook, it makes it a little less desirable for me.

Font Conference

This is just hilarious for anyone whose done any design or work with fonts. Some of the language would give it a PG-13, so if that offends you, please don’t watch. For the rest, enjoy.

The History of the SuperSoaker and Water Games

In honor of the 4th of July and the wonderful season of summer, here’s a link to an awesome site (iSoaker.com) with a visual history of everyone’s favorite water gun, the SuperSoaker. It’s like a timeline of my years in ministry, I’ve seen a lot of those guns show up at Water Wars and Dye War events. They also have a great section of water games.

iBand or WorshipBand?

This has been making the rounds, but it’s still pretty cool. Maybe you can use it as a basis for your worship band. This resource may be more help with that:

Learn to Podcast in 12 Minutes

The folks over at Apple have posted a new set on of online seminars. I’ve taken part in a number of their seminars in the past, they have always been well done.

A question I often get is “How can I start podcasting?,” and this should be a great introduction. It was fairly basic, but it covers all everything you need to get started. And it’s FREE. It does require you to register in their seminar system, but then you can get email about future seminars.

Sorry PC friends, but it only covers tools on the Mac, but you may still find it interesting.

I originally posted this over at a new blog that I’m a contributor in, YouthMinistryGeek.com, I would love for you to check it out.

Favorite Presentation Software

Over at YouthMinistryGeek.com they are running at survey to find out your favorite presentation software.    I was torn as to what to vote for.  My absolute favorite is ProPresenter, but usually I just use Keynote when I speak to our Jr High Group.

Go vote for your favorite, and let your voice be heard!

New Look for iGlimpse.com

I’m trying out a new theme.  Let me know what you think.  It’s still a work in progress, so let me know if something is not working right.

Thanks.

Firefox Download Day

Download Day 2008

The team over at Mozilla is trying to set a world record for the number of downloads of firefox today. Their new version 3 is great, and I highly recommend it (it’s my browser of choice). If you aren’t already a Firefox user today is a great time to try it out, and if you’re still on v2 today is your day to upgrade.

How To Turn Your iPod into a Moleskin Book

Over at Wired that have a great little “how to” turn a moleskin journal and an iPod Touch or iPhone into a book reader. Since this involved 2 of my favorite things, I just had to post about it. Since it involves jailbreaking your iPod and mutilating a perfectly good moleskin I don’t think I will be doing this anytime soon, but it’s a fun thought. I’ve always thought the iPod would make a great book reader.

Check out the article over at Wired.
